Former Senior Executive on the Statoil Executive Committee with over 17 years of industry experience.
As Senior Executive Vice President at Statoil, Mellbye managed the company’s development and production activities outside of Norway/North America in countries such as Brazil, UK, Russia and Venezuela. From 2004 until 2010, he was
responsible for building the Statoil International upstream business and growing production from less than 100,000 bbls per day to 650,000 bbls per day. In addition, Peter played a key role in leading negotiations and developing Statoil’s natural gas value chains in Europe and abroad. He has also held positions with the Norwegian Export Council and the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Commerce.
He holds a Masters in political science, economics and law.
