Payne Brown is the Managing Director at HPS Investment Partners. Prior to joining HPS in 2011, Mr. Brown was Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and a corporate officer at Comcast Corporation.
He served on Comcast’s cable division’s executive committee and attended the Chairman’s staff meetings. Mr. Brown established and served on Comcast’s
diversity council, developed Comcast’s overall diversity philosophy and was responsible for programming content, target marketing and public affairs.
He was also a consulting member of TV One’s executive management team and worked with them on business development and strategy issues. He also was recently named as one of Ebony magazine’s “Power 100” and Uptown Professional magazine’s 100 Top Executives in America (recognizing outstanding culturally and ethnically diverse executives).
Mr. Brown received a BS in Management from Purdue University and a JD from George Washington University, National Law Center. Mr. Brown and Mr. Friedman have worked successfully together since 2003, when their respective firms were both investors in TV One.
