Paul P. Wang joined Silver Lake in 2013 as a Senior Advisor. He brings more than forty years of experience in the technology and venture capital industries. Previously, he was a Managing General Partner at Pacific Venture Partners, a firm he founded in 1990. He is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Sercomm Corporation, a publicly-listed wireless and
telecom equipment company. He also serves as a board member of several public companies, including MediaTek Inc., MiTAC Inc., and Taiwan Cement Company Ltd., and is currently Chairman of the Monte Jade Science and Technology Association in Taiwan, an organization of global Chinese technology companies and entrepreneurs. Mr. Wang served as Chairman of the Taiwan Venture Capital Association from 1997-2005 and Technology Advisor to the Executive Yuan, the executive branch of the Taiwan government, from 1983-1989. Prior to Pacific Venture Partners, Mr. Yang held a number of senior management positions during a 20-year career at IBM. Mr. Wang holds a Ph.D and an M.S. degree in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.S. degree in Physics from National Taiwan University.
