Paul Slipper is a Vancouver based stone sculptor and has been a full time artist since graduating from Emily Carr School of Art (now University) in 1983. Having sold and shown both locally and internationally, his work has received numerous awards throughout North America and Asia. His work has been exhibited in Vancouver, Whistler, Denver, New
York, Toronto, LA, Hokkaido Japan and most recently Palm Desert, California.
Commissions and acquisitions of his art include works for Pepsi Cola in Bellingham Washington, Delta Bow Valley Hotel in Calgary Alberta, The Chateau Whistler, the Vancouver International Airport, the City of Richmond BC, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the City of Surrey, the City of Calgary and two commissions for the District of North Vancouver. Recently he has completed a commission for the City of Thunder Bay.
Throughout his career, Paul has enjoyed incorporating a sense of humour into his sculptures, as a way to both intrigue and delight his audience. The use of satire allows an idea to be more accessible; both inviting the viewer to question and interpret the completed work.
