Paul Monteiro is a Partner with Values Partnerships. He comes to VPI from The White House, where he served as Associate Director of the Office of Public Engagement. Paul led the White House’s outreach to faith-based organizations with a particular focus on African American religious groups; Arab Americans; anti-poverty groups; and gun safety
advocates. He also coordinated the White House Mentorship Program for young men in local high schools. Paul worked as the national deputy director for faith outreach on the 2008 Obama for America campaign. He earned his J.D. from Howard University School of Law and a BA from the University of Maryland. He is widely known as one of the country’s leading experts on Black church engagement, Muslim American and Dharmic community outreach, as well as various efforts to strengthen the social safety net.
