Paul McLean assumes the role of President, Golf Canada in 2015. He will also serve as the Past President of the Golf Canada Foundation. As co-founder and President of Maxium Financial, Paul has been instrumental in its development and growth to become one of Canada’s leading privately held leasing companies with assets exceeding $1.0 billion.
Maxium is positioned as the largest provider of equipment leases and mortgages to the Canadian golf industry. Paul previously worked at Triathlon Leasing where he held the position of President, Equipment Leasing. Prior to Triathlon, he had a successful career at Xerox Canada where he held several sales and marketing management positions.
Paul attended McMaster University on a Chancellors scholarship and completed an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Statistics and Computer Science, which was followed by completing a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
Paul and his wife live in the Richmond Hill community and have two children attending post-secondary in Ontario. He remains active as an avid golfer and as a member of the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), and the Golf Course Superintendents Association (GCSA). He is on the board of several organizations including Maxium, Desante, Amstel Doors, Golf Canada Foundation and Laurence North.
He has been acknowledged by the National Post as one of the Top 25 most influential people in Canadian golf and is a part owner of both Coppinwood and Oviinbyrd golf clubs. Paul also volunteers his time and support to Eva’s Initiatives for homeless youth and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
