Patrick has 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He joined Heavy Reading in 2006, covering mobile networks. Since 2010, Patrick has led Heavy Reading’s research in network security. He is one of very few analysts in the industry focused on the cyber threat landscape from the perspective of communications service providers,
covering the architectural and solution requirements they have for protecting their own infrastructure, as well as their role in providing protection services to enterprises and consumers. An increasing part of his focus is on enabling clients to take advantage of the new security opportunities presented by NFV and SDN, as well as protecting against the new threats that a more software programmable architecture also brings with it. Prior to joining Heavy Reading, Patrick worked for several years in strategic planning and corporate development roles at Motorola and Nortel.
