Patrick graduated from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 1986. After passing the National Board and the California State Board, he moved back to Colorado and was hired by Swan-Law Funeral Directors in Colorado Springs where he worked for 22 years. In addition to being a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, he is also a Colorado
Mortuary Science Practitioner and has been an active member of the Colorado Funeral Directors Association since 1987. In 1996 (while continuing his position as a Funeral Director) Patrick joined DMORT (Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team- a division of FEMA and DHHS) as a Mortuary Officer. In this role, Patrick has helped in the recovery and identification efforts during 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Haiti Earthquake, and the Joplin Tornado as well as many airline disasters and other mass fatality incidents. He continues to respond whenever the need or situation arises.
