Oscar Engelbert, a 47-year-old Swedish entrepreneur and citizen, is the founder of Oscar Properties, a prominent real estate company based in Stockholm. Since the age of 18, he has been actively involved in managing various business enterprises. In 2004, Oscar identified an opportunity in the real estate market, transforming vacant office spaces
into residential properties, drawing inspiration from neighborhoods like SoHo in New York.
As a pioneer in this venture, Oscar Properties became the first company in Sweden to embark on such projects. Oscar's initial foray into the sector involved cold-calling owners of attractive office spaces and securing his first deal in 2004 at the age of 27. Over the years, Oscar developed a close relationship with Erik Paulsson, a highly successful real estate entrepreneur in Sweden, who later became his mentor. This connection led to Oscar's election to the board of directors of Fabege, a Swedish real estate company controlled by the Paulsson family.
From 2004 to 2017, Oscar Properties experienced rapid growth, emerging as one of the largest developers in Stockholm, with over 1200 apartments in production. In response to market changes in 2017, Oscar strategically shifted the business model towards focusing on investment properties as the core business, leveraging cashflow to support developments.
Oscar's impactful projects include the high-rises Norra Tornen (recipient of the high-rise award of the year) and the innovative 79&Park, designed by BIG. These developments have reshaped the skyline of Stockholm, featuring modern design, architecture, and a deep understanding of contemporary living preferences.
Beyond Oscar Properties, Oscar Engelbert owns multiple buildings in Stockholm and abroad through his holding company.
