Ola Sowemimo is Chief Investment Officer at Ecobank Development Corporation where he is responsible for leading and developing the firm's investment teams and strategies across Africa. In this capacity, he oversees a team of 12 investment professionals managing over 100 portfolios (13 listed mutual funds) with assets in excess of $600 million
across fixed income and equity strategies. In addition, Ola serves as the Chairman of the Investment Committee and is a member of the Ecobank Securities, Wealth and Asset Management Leadership Team.
Prior to joining Ecobank in October 2015, Ola spent the previous 10 years investing in Global Emerging and Frontier economies, most recently at Pioneer Investment Management Limited, UK (Now AmundiPioneer) as Vice President, Emerging Markets. He also worked as an emerging markets investment analyst at Legg Mason Global Asset Management and Citigroup Asset Management, focusing on the Financial and Consumer sectors.
