Oded Serving as Kibbutz Hatzerim's general manager from 1962-1967, Oded helped found Netafim in 1965, and was appointed CEO in 1967. Oded initially focused on conducting R&D to bring legitimacy to drip technology, implementing drip for open-field vegetables and orchard crops, creating a manufacturing system to meet growing market demand,
and establishing contacts for distributing Netafim products worldwide.
Concentrating on product development between 1972-1976, Oded went to the US in 1977, and helped set up Netafim's first foreign entity, DII, which eventually became the company's first official subsidiary, Netafim USA, in 1981. Returning to Israel in 1978, Oded served a second term as CEO until 1982. In 2012, Oded was granted a lifetime achievement award from the Kibbutz Industries Association for his work as association chairman and his involvement with Netafim, one of the leading kibbutz industry success stories.
