Nick Sinatra is the founder and CEO of Sinatra and Co. Reflecting on the properties and communities which he’s helped to create and sustain, Nick Sinatra has masterfully built the foundations of an accomplished and flourishing career. Raised in Kenmore, New York, Sinatra’s roots helped him realize the value of having opportunities and improving
life in that region of the country. After graduating from Yale University, he obtained an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. His upbringing and education next led him on a path to helping people through both politics and real estate.
Nick Sinatra began his career by working for The Empire State Agency in Buffalo, New York, assisting in economic development with Governor George Pataki. While in that position, Nick helped secure a development deal that brought Geico’s 2,300 job call center into Amherst, New York.
Afterward, Nick Sinatra worked for the White House as the Associate Political Director for President Bush. In that position, he handled the president’s political affairs throughout the northeastern region of the United States.
His success in politics inspired him to make a difference in a new way. In 2009, he took his experiences back to New York state to establish Sinatra & Company Real Estate, a firm that has distinguished itself from other REITs for its fresh approach towards evaluating investments, its passionate professionals and a dedicated focus on distressed multi-family and commercial properties in Western New York and Chicagoland.
In the ten short years since its founding, Sinatra & Company Real Estate has acquired or built more than 850,000 square feet of commercial property space and more than 5,500 apartment units.
Between the company’s properties in Chicago, Indiana, and upstate New York, Nick Sinatra has led his company to acquire more than $550 million in assets using a diverse and notable base of investors. Its institutional banking contributors include Colony Capital, Genesis Capital, Torchlight Capital, Windsor Capital, Pritzker/Vlock Family Office, and Auerbach Opportunity Funds.
Among the company's long-term vision, one is to help reclaim Buffalo, New York’s downtown district, establishing it as a world-renowned city. In doing so, the company proudly prioritizes people over profits by helping to rebuild underserved and underdeveloped neighborhoods as part of their sustainable investment platform which provides optimized returns to its investors and fosters social impact. Sinatra has led the company to rapid growth with projects encompassing hundreds of thousands of square feet in commercial and residential structures each year. Today, Sinatra & Company Real Estate has emerged as one of the prominent real estate firms in the country and also as one of Buffalo, NY’s fastest-growing firms.
Nick Sinatra is also an avid support of charitable organizations. He sits on the board of both Buffalo State College and the nonprofit Say Yes Buffalo, a partnership and advocacy group that works to increase high school and postsecondary completion rates in Buffalo and invest in the education of Western New York’s future workforce. Currently, Sinatra and his wife serve as the co-chairs for the organization’s $100 million scholarship campaign.
