Nian Chen is the founder and CEO of VANCL Technology Company Limited. Chen founded the VANCL brand in 2007 by selling clothing and accessories. After receiving the backing from several venture capital funds, VANCL grew to become one of the best known e-commerce business companies in China. Chen also co-founded Joyo.com in 2000. He was appointed
Executive Vice President of the company six months later. Joyo.com was later purchased by Amazon for US$75 million. Chen founded Book Review Weekly at the invitation of the China Book Business Report in June 1998. Chen was instrumental in establishing the Xishu Book Club and served as its Editor-in-Chief of Haoshu in 1997.
