Nathan Brown is an entertainment creative executive, production veteran and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience dedicated to the development and convergence of emerging platforms, entertainment, advertising and media. As GM of Video and Complex TV at Complex Media, Brown created the strategy for and oversees all development, production,
programming, distribution, marketing, packaging, monetization, licensing, and partnerships for Complex Media’s video ventures.
Under his leadership, he has grown Complex TV’s video team from two to 35+ members, and has launched 20+ tentpole franchises in Music, Pop Culture, Style, Gaming, Sports and other key entertainment categories. Additionally, Complex TV has produced bespoke branded entertainment programming for the world’s top brands including McDonalds, Bacardi, Coors, Mountain Dew, Pepsi, and Toyota. In November 2013, Brown led the launch of Complex’s largest video initiative, Complex News, which has four dedicated video news teams producing 10+ videos daily in NY and LA.
Brown also heads the video distribution and syndication programs on and off Complex TV platforms, inking deals with YouTube and Dailymotion with more announcing soon. During Brown's time, Complex TV has scaled past 20 million monthly views on pace to surpass 100 million in December 2014. Complex TV has been critically praised, receiving Webby and Digiday nominations for outstanding video platform. Flagship series Magnum Opus earned a DigiDay Award and Webby Honoree for best Original Unscripted Series. As someone very passionate about the future of the industry, Brown often speaks at conferences such as CES, Digital Hollywood, Media Summit, LDV Summit, New York Video Meetup, and Playlist Live. A long-time San Francisco resident, he currently resides in Manhattan with his wife and French Bulldog.
