Mohammed Zarroug is a venture capitalist and private equity investor. Based between London and Dubai, he is Founder of Lumen Investments, which invests in both established and start-up businesses.
He has built a large portfolio of businesses across food and beverage, technology, consumer goods, art, and media. He is a member of the venture fund
OMAKASE Investment Club, which has backed high-growth companies such as restaurant chain Bancone, which recently opened its first branch in London's Covent Garden; gluten-, wheat-, and dairy-free food brand Pollen + Grace, and eco-friendly coldtech firm Therma.
He is drawn to companies with disruptive business models and strong impact-led brands that appeal to today's conscious consumer. He backs businesses with strong management teams and a clear market proposition, that blend commercial success with environmental and economic impact.
Mohammed’s recent investments include Mango Sciences, a medtech business using data to connect millions of patients to precision medicine in emerging markets, and Quicrete, a leading supplier of construction materials in the MENA region.
He is also an investor in Tuuum, an online art market that provides emerging artists with a platform to sell their work while building a following among new and seasoned collectors. Tuuum's innovative resale model means that artists receive a royalty when their work is resold in the future, ensuring that they benefit from growing interest in their work.
Mohammed recently launched the Lumen Foundation, which supports causes across homelessness and animal rights. He holds a BA in Economics from George Washington University.
