Mike was a founder of Validus and has remained as its Chief Executive Officer following the LDC-backed MBO in March 2013. As CEO he sees his role as being to serve the Executive Board and to facilitate the decision-making process within the senior team. His management style is to nurture the talents of a ‘Very diligent and resourceful workforce’,
by establishing a culture that embraces objectivity and an ethical approach to business at every level within the organisation.
When not meeting with clients or business associates, Mike meets with employees and members of the management team on a daily basis.
Mike is married to Julie and they have three children, all of whom are now adults. If he is not spending time with his family, he is most likely to be found riding his bike or watching his sons play rugby with a critical eye, having played the game himself ‘at a decent level in the olden days’.
Mike studied Mechanical & Production Engineering at KCFE and holds an MBA from the University of East Anglia Business School.
