Mike Winston, CFA is the founder and Managing Principal of Sutton View Capital LLC, an employee-owned hedge fund sponsor and advisor. Founded in 2012, Sutton View places a heavy emphasis on event-driven and intrinsic value investing. Since the company's inception, Sutton View has become the exclusive advisor to one or more of the largest
academic endowments in the world.
Prior to founding Sutton View, Mike Winston served as a portfolio manager at Millennium Partners LP where, for over five years, he and a colleague managed a billion-dollar merger arbitrage and event-driven capital allocation. As it relates to his educational background, Mike received his MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Columbia Business School in 2005, and a BA in Economics from Cornell University in 1999. At Columbia, he completed the school’s program in Value Investing. While at Cornell, Mike studied for a year at the London School of Economics and twice won the Eastern US division for policy debate. Shortly thereafter, Mike began his career in 1999 with Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Winston is a CFA Charter Holder and a member of the Economic Club of New York.
