Michael Weissman is a technical visionary with over 40 years of research and development experience. As one of the world's leading stereoscopic experts, Dr. Weissman is guiding the company's advanced development projects. He has been developing 3D stereoscopic video systems for 25 years, and his 3D systems have traveled two miles under
the sea and into radioactive waste sites. Prior to founding TrueVision, Dr. Weissman was a member of the engineering team at Karl Storz Imaging that developed that company's 3D endoscope. He has also helped develop head-mounted displays, 3D tracking systems, and stereoscopic software. In the 1980s he founded Microscience, Inc., one of the first companies to develop 2D and 3D video analysis on personal computers. Dr. Weissman is a member of the program committee for the Stereoscopic Applications Conference of the SPIE. He earned his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins and his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago and performed post-doctoral research at Imperial College, London.
