Michael Warmuth was a former Executive Vice President, Established Pharmaceuticals, focusing on expanding the global market for Abbott’s portfolio of branded generic pharmaceuticals. He was appointed to his current role in November 2012.
Most recently, Mr. Warmuth served as Senior Vice President, Established Pharmaceuticals, which previously
operated as part of Abbott’s global pharmaceutical business. Mr. Warmuth joined Abbott in 1986 as part of Abbott's manufacturing professional development program. He served in a variety of management roles including Senior Vice President, Diagnostics, heading Abbott’s global core laboratory Diagnostics business; Vice President and General Manager, Hematology, in Abbott's Diagnostics business; Vice President, Global Engineering Services; Divisional Vice President of Pharmaceutical Operations; and Divisional Vice President of Corporate Quality Operations.
He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a master's degree in business administration from Northwestern University.
