Michael B. Spears is Chief Information Officer and Chief Data Officer of NCCI. As CIO, he is responsible for oversight of all technology, application development, and the Program Management Office. In his role as Chief Data Officer, he oversees NCCI's data collection, quality validation, coordination with industry groups on data reporting
rules and standards, and the deployment of reporting tools for data providers. Mr. Spears joined NCCI in 1993 and has held a variety of management positions within the areas of Information Technology, Business Development, Product Management, Experience Rating, Customer Service, and Assigned Risk. Before coming to NCCI, he used his expertise in information technology in the education sector. Mr. Spears received a BBA in Computer Information Systems in 1991 and an MBA in 1995, both from the University of Miami. He has also completed executive level management courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
