Michael J. Sousa joined HealthStream in October 2004 and is currently serving as senior vice president and president, HealthStream Provider Solutions segment, which is a combination of two previously acquired businesses: HealthLine Systems (HLS) and Sy.Med Development (Sy.Med). Mr. Sousa provides executive leadership for this segment, directing
our San Diego, CA and Brenwood, TN teams to build, sell, and service our comprehensive solution set for healthcare provider credentialing, privileging, enrollment, referral, onboarding, and analytics. He previously served as our senior vice president, business development. Prior to this role, he served as our senior vice president, sales where he reengineered the HealthStream sales teams into an integrated, high-performing sales organization. Earlier in his HealthStream tenure, he oversaw the design, launch, and growth of our HealthStream Strategic Accounts Program and HealthStream Professional Services. Prior to HealthStream, Mr. Sousa held several consulting positions over nine years including as Associate Partner for IBM Business Consulting Services' healthcare practice, Managing Consultant for PWC Consulting's e-learning practice, and Senior Consultant for Coopers & Lybrand's Higher Education practice. Mr. Sousa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College's Carroll School of Management and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University's School of Management.
