Michael Saquella is a multi-faceted actor and director whose career covers film, television, comedy, commercials, and live performances. Growing up in Rochester, NY, Mike Saquella had early ambitions to pursue a career in the film industry, and his move to Los Angeles, CA, helped him turn those dreams into a steady professional path. His ability to
navigate the industry's ups and downs is evident in his continued presence and work across numerous projects. A significant highlight was being selected to portray John Belushi in the TV film ‘Wired,’ an opportunity that resulted from his strong impersonation skills.
He was given this chance due to his live performances as a famous comedian in shows like “Legends in Concert” and “Legendary Superstars,” which took him to stages across America and Canada. His work as a blues singer and a skilled impersonator added to his appeal. However, the film’s production was halted due to legal reasons and later resumed, although the role was given to someone else.
In 2023, he played the lead in A Conversation with a Mobster, bringing a grounded approach to the role of an Italian-American crime boss. His commitment has led to roles alongside respected actors and industry figures. He is a member of SAG-AFTRA, has received multiple acting awards, and has taken on screenwriting and directing with the same dedication. Over nearly forty years, he has had leading roles in films such as El Coyote, which he also co-directed, as well as Dream Round, Old Man Cacti, Desert Rose, and Forget About It.
