He's the chairman of Community Veterinary Partner's hospitals. He also served as chief operating officer from 2009 through 2014. Michael is a director at Calico Real Estate and Calico Financial. He is also managing director at Calico Group.
Before co-founding MDM, he was director of private equity at CMS Companies. At CMS, which he
joined in 2002, Michael was a manager of the CMS Small-Cap Private Equity Fund, which invested in small companies. He led investments into companies that focus on health care services, manufacturing services, new media and others.
Before joining CMS, Michael co-founded and was CEO of vcmVertical, a financial services software. Before that, he spent seven years as newspaper journalist, working for the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Associated Press, the Newark Star-Ledger, and the Virginian Pilot.
Michael is a member of the board of directors of the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society.
Michael has an MBA from Temple University and a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
He lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Jenny, and sons, Maxon and Ezra, along with their two cats, Obi-Wan and Kit Fisto.
