Michael Ooi is a Co-founder and Director of Peoplender Sdn Bhd.
He has at least 26 years of experience in the legal field. Michael has extensive expertise and experience in conveyancing, banking, construction, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, corporate law and litigation.
Besides his work as a Managing Partner of a law firm,
he has been serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 2 boards listed on the Bursa Stock Exchange and one private state-owned company. On boards of the public listed companies, he also assumes the role of Chairman of the Nominations Committee, Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit Committee. He started serving as a board member in the public listed companies since 2003.
Michael first graduated from the University of Malaya in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours), majoring in Economics. In 1990, he obtained his Bachelor of Law (with Honours) from the University of London. He was called to the Malaysian Bar and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1991.
