Currently Managing Director of MDM Advisors, Michael Marvin has over 25 years of experience assisting boards and CEOs achieve dramatic growth or reinvent their companies. He has been active on many boards, including PeopleFluent, KZO Innovations, Blue Slate Solutions, Geac Inc., Vicarious Visions, ReQuest Multimedia, MRO Software, LearnLinc and
PowerOne. He is an advisor to Bedford Funding, a $1.4 billion private equity fund focused on IT in the Human Resource Management and Healthcare sectors. As Founder and first CEO of MapInfo, Michael led the company’s evolution from a startup in 1986 to a NASDAQ listed company.
He was a Founding Partner of Exponential Business Development Company, has held various positions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and was a Principal in Marvin Associates, a manager at Westinghouse, and a programmer for the NASA Apollo project while at Sperry Univac. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science from the Graduate School of Industrial Administration at Carnegie-Mellon University.
