Mr. Michael John Paul Marks, CBE serves as the Founding Partner and Chairman at New Smith Capital Partners LLP which he founded in 2003. Mr. Marks serves as an Investment Advisor and Chairman of NewSmith Asset Management. He also serves as an Advisor at Dawnay Day Lander. He has over 40 years of experience in the banking and securities industry.

He has been Non-Executive Director of Old Mutual PLC since February 1, 2004 and RIT Capital Partners plc since September 1, 2004 and has been its Senior Independent Director since July 22, 2010. Mr. Marks served as a Director of Smith Bros since 1975. He served as a Director of Cenkos Securities Ltd. He served as a Non-Executive Director of London Stock Exchange PLC from July 1994 to July 2004.
Mr. Marks served as a Member of NASD's International Markets Advisory Board since 1991. He was awarded a CBE in January 1999 for services to Britain's financial services industry. Mr. Marks attended St. Paul's School in London.
