Michael G. Sheppard is a Brentwood, Tennessee, resident who is interested in education and law. With three decades of professional experience, Michael remains interested in educational law. Additionally, Michael G. Sheppard has been an executive, litigation manager, and general counsel for companies in both the United States and England.
Having
this passion and desire for success, Michael G. Sheppard decided to attend Morehead State University. With such a rich history and a strong focus on academics, Michael knew it was the perfect place for him to grow and develop within the contours of social justice. There, Mike was active in various ways. Whether it was academically in the classroom or socially with his fraternity, Michael wanted to be a motivator and changer in every aspect of his life. This drive and outlook eventually solidified his decision to attain his Juris Doctorate at Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. During his three years there, Michael excelled academically and eventually graduated, receiving honors in criminal trial practice law.
As a 1981 graduate of the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Michael G. Sheppard, knew he wanted more out of his educational studies than just a degree. Simply succeeding in the classroom was not enough for the goals and desires he had for his future and those around him. He wanted his time in the law field to be meaningful and impactful. He wanted to influence the game and become the voice for the voiceless. Integrating his beliefs about social responsibility from both his father and his alma mater, Michael took the path of working on the defensive side in court. After years of development and practice, Mike eventually made a change to Insurance Law, focusing on the regulation of the business of insurance, the content of insurance policies, and customer policies. While he rose the rankings to become Vice President at his company, Michael knew there was more he could do than just the corporate side of the business. Because of this deep-rooted passion to be bigger than himself, Michael decided to leave his position and assume the role of an education lawyer in Tennessee.
Michael G. Sheppard is a member of both the Tennessee and American Bar Association, where he currently resides and practices. He is also the founder of Sheppard Law Group, PLC, and is also a co-author for a number of articles for the Nashville Business Journal.
