Michael Dalton first became a force in financial planning education in 1981, when he was solicited to teach retirement plans and retirement planning at the Loyola University and College for Financial Planning-CFP® Programs. From 1990 to 1993, he served on the CFP Board, was chairman of the Board of Examiners for the CFP Board and served on the
Board of Governors. Michael Dalton was pivotal in helping to create the comprehensive exam—the essential part of what sets the CFP credential apart from other credentials in the financial services industry.
