Michael Johnson, founder and CEO of Elite Transit Solutions, is a nationally recognized trailblazer in the supply chain industry. Since starting ELITE in 2013, his relentless drive to change the freight management industry, along with his passion for customer service, has led to the company’s hyper-growth which has taken the logistics world by
storm. This has resulted in numerous awards that recognize both the company’s remarkable success, as well as Michael’s individual accomplishments. In early 2018 Mr. Johnson opened a new office in downtown Pittsburgh that is set to be the launching pad for ELITE’s next great chapter of success.
Michael’s path to becoming a bona fide leader in the freight management industry goes back to his days at his alma mater, Auburn University. There he studied supply chain management in one of the nation’s most acclaimed SCM programs. Coming full circle, Michael was recently honored by Auburn as the 2018 Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Following his days at Auburn, Michael practiced his trade at CEVA Logistics where he spearheaded a supply chain startup for one of the largest blood product suppliers in North America. This success led him to take on a massive segment of Microsoft’s supply chain at CEVA. Soon, Michael saw the need for new leadership within the supply chain industry as a whole; and from that, Elite Transit Solutions was founded.
Michael’s vision for ELITE has been very clear since day 1 – the freight management industry is antiquated, still relying on generations-old processes and technology to transport the groceries we eat and the products we buy. It has been wildly inefficient.
The answer to this challenge is at the core of ELITE’s mission: to bring the freight management industry into the 21st century through the innovative use of technology that will minimize error and free humans working in the supply chain to manage customer relationships and tackle the nuanced challenges that a computer is incapable of.
Having won many awards since founding the company, the most important accomplishment to Michael is that ELITE has set the new standard for customer service and on-time delivery rates in the industry. While the awards are a reminder of the hard work and many achievements of the company, knowing that ELITE is making a difference with its customers, doing it better than any other freight management company in the industry, is the biggest prize of all.
