Michael D'Angelo has over 30 years’ experience as an executive, manager, engineer, entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He currently serves as COO of Phantom Space and previously serves as Executive Vice President of a large family office in Palm Beach and Boston where he led Direct Ventures and Business Development, Chief Strategy Office and
Vice President of Technology and Programs for Moon Express, Inc, Division President, CTO and COO of Air Racing, Inc. (Rocket Racing League), and on the founding teams of a number of additional companies in areas including biotech, wireless, software and aerospace. Michael’s technical work experience has included technology and business-related advisory support to NASA's return-to-flight program, software, flight dynamics engineering and engine development and testing at Pratt & Whitney, R&D in airborne surveillance systems, flight systems and ballistic missile defense at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, R&D in subsonic aerodynamics at the MIT Wright Brothers Wind Tunnel Facility, and systems engineering and program management for the deployment of advanced aerospace systems at POET, a science advisory group in Washington, D.C.
Michael is a five-time recipient of the Jonas Weil Entrepreneurship Fellowship from Cornell University. He holds five patents, has published a paper in the Journal of Private Equity and has been an invited guest speaker at NYU's Stern School and the MIT Technology Capital Network. He holds an MBA from Cornell University and a graduate degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
