Melissa has been helping to grow companies since 2007. She has worked for, and founded, multiple startups, from small business Planet Argon to midsize rocket ship GitHub and professional development/networking group OrgOrg.
Melissa is currently taking time off from paid work to expand OrgOrg, a global support network and brain trust for
early nontechnical employees at startups and small businesses. Her past positions include Director of Operations at GitHub Inc, tackling a myriad of challenges from instituting early policy and culture to creating CodeConf, GitHub’s first developer conference, and eventually building out a 30+ person G&A team for the company’s growing needs.
Her niche is designing and building great companies with a focus on employee happiness, transparent management, and exemplary culture. In her spare time she climbs, knits, and is currently training for her second marathon.
Melissa lives in San Francisco , CA with her fiancé and Ada the wonder dog.
