McKay Thomas is the President and Co-founder of Walrus Health. He has been an entrepreneur since he was 17 and his companies employ hundreds of people in half a dozen countries. A product designer at heart, his focus on design and unique experiences has re-shaped multiple industries. He is the co-founder and CEO of First Opinion ($9M in VC from
Polaris, True, Greylock). Launched in 2014, First Opinion connects people with a doctor instantly, 24-hours a day through an iPhone app. The Wall Street Journal, Mashable, The New York Times, TechCrunch, and many others have written about the doctor app that tens of thousands have turned to for everyday medical questions.
He previously co-founded Baby.com.br and Dinda.com.br in 2010 in Brazil ($45M+ in VC from Accel, Tiger Global, Thiel Capital); the former are now among the largest online retailers of baby-related goods, the latter the largest flash sales company in the female/mother market. Launched in 2011, it grew quickly selling millions of diapers and hiring over 200 people in its first 12 months. He got his start in 2004 on the founding team of PoolTables.com, the largest pool table retailer in the US, with retail outlets in GA, NJ, OR, and UT. It was sold to Billiards.com, Inc. (owner of GolfClubs.com, Billiards.com, PoolCues.com).
