Max Raphel is a seasoned marketing and sales executive with global expertise in multichannel sales & marketing and mar-tech in the education and FMCG industries. Max spent the first half of his career in FMCG in sales and operations at Nestle. He was on an accelerated management development program which exposed him to multiple roles and
geographies. After Nestle, Max joined The Procter & Gamble Company in the brand management function. He worked in the food & beverage business as well as the laundry business and had the opportunity to work in global roles and had expatriate assignments in Latin America. Max is fully bilingual in Spanish and English, while functional in French. He has a high degree of proficiency in branding, strategy, performance marketing, and communication. In addition, he has significant expertise in technology related to student management (CRM and SIS) as well as peripheral ecosystem technologies in marketing automation, social media, portal, student apps, and digital enablement (e.g. Google Analytics 360 Marketing Platform).
Max transitioned from CPG to the world of for-profit education and found his passion working across a variety of universities at Laureate Education. In Mexico, Max held leadership positions at UNITEC and UVM. At UNITEC, Max was the CMO and led all research, portfolio and pricing strategy, marketing, business incubator, career services, telemarketing, and oversaw the Health Sciences school. In addition, Max led the launch of the online business and implemented the marketing technology strategy, which saw UNITEC become a benchmark in Latam regarding digital marketing and services. At UVM, Max led operations as Chief Commercial Officer with responsibilities including the recruitment of +61k new students, marketing, portfolio management, pricing, and career services. Finally, Max led the implementation of CRM + peripheral technology for student recruitment and support while integrating with 36 Banner instances. After leading operations in Mexico, Max moved to a Global Acquisition and Engagement VP for Laureate working with Country CEOs and CCOs as a subject-matter expert in enrollment leveraging customer-centric strategies, best practices, as well as proprietary systems and processes to win market share.
Since 2017, Max has become an investor in several FMCG and ed-tech start-ups. In addition, he worked to establish a Pan-African online education platform for a client and continues to advise across the education industry. Finally, Max recently launched a joint venture in Latam with Incubeta Holdings, a top global digital agency player focused on data-driven digital media performance, technology, and AI.
