As Partner and Portfolio Manager at Summit Capital, Matt supervises the investment team responsible for research, allocation, and trading decisions of the firm’s public market strategies. Matt diligently scans the marketplace for new investment ideas across the capital markets spectrum, drawing on his years of experience as a corporate banker to
gain insight into a company’s performance and financial stability.
Prior to joining Summit Capital in 1997, Matt was a Vice President with U.S. Bank of Washington and managed the Large Corporate Lending Group for West One Bank of Washington before its merger with U.S. Bank. Preceding his transition into corporate banking Matt spent five years as a Petroleum Engineer for Occidental Petroleum Corporation in Texas.
Matt received an MBA from Seattle University in 1988 and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington in 1979. Matt also holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 65 designation. As a passionate outdoorsman, Matt serves on the Western Regional Board for the National Parks Conservation Association. He and his wife are longtime residents of the Seattle area.
