Massimo Acquaviva, 2R Capital Investment Management Limited co-CEO, co-founded this business in 2016, replacing 2R Capital Limited (which he had formed in 2009) to become the parent company of the subsidiary 2R Capital SpA.
An experienced investor, Massimo has a keen interest in retention, investment training and talent acquisition, and he cites
his key strengths as humility, tenacity and the ability to motivate a team and identify new opportunities.
In his role as director of 2R Capital Investment Management Limited, Massimo has joint responsibility for all investment decisions as well as the day-to-day operations of the business. As co-CEO of 2R Capital SpA he jointly manages and oversees all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, financing, transaction structuring and the execution of post-closing monetisation strategies.
During his time with Credit Suisse as the director in the Investment Banking division, he was responsible for originating and structuring distressed and principal finance transactions in the Italian market. His main areas of focus included illiquid assets (he originated in excess of 500 million euros of claims against various corporate and public sector entities) and tax receivables. In terms of the latter, Massimo established and ran an acquisition programme that focused on VAT and corporate income tax receivables. He was responsible for purchasing more than 50 claims and managing a portfolio containing 300 million euro’s worth of assets.
When he’s not at work, Massimo enjoys a number of hobbies including walking, reading and playing tennis with this family. He also loves worldwide travel and relishes Italian cuisine.
