Dr. Smith is the EVP, Clinical Development at Bamboo Therapeutics. She brings to Bamboo strong experience in research and pharmaceutical and biotech industries, including extensive clinical, scientific, regulatory, CMC, and program management experience. She has experience in all stages of development from target discovery through all phases of
clinical development.
Prior to joining Bamboo, Dr. Smith was VP, Product Development at United Therapeutics. In that role, she was head of biologics in oncology, with additional responsibility for regenerative medicine and virology. Specifically, she led the multi-disciplinary team responsible for the approval of Unituxin®, the first approved immunotherapy for the treatment of high-risk neuroblastoma in the US and EU. She also managed the regenerative medicine program, which included mesenchymal stem cell therapies and lung regeneration efforts.
Dr. Smith holds both an honors B.S. in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in microbiology/immunology from the University of New Hampshire.
