Dr. Martin Rosenberg is the Chief Scientific Officer at Promega Corporation in Madison, WI.
He joined Promega in 2001 after retiring as Senior Vice President and Director of Anti-Infectives Drug Discovery and Development at GlaxoSmithKline.
He spent 20 years in the SmithKline R&D Organization and served as Senior Vice President and
Director in R&D since 1993.
Dr. Rosenberg serves on the Board of Directors of Promega Corporation, Madison, WI; the Medical College of Wisconsin Research Foundation, Milwaukee, WI; Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Lexington, MA; and Scarab Genomics, Madison, WI.
He also served as a member of the Advisory Council for the National Institutes of Allergy & Infectious Diseases and on the Council of Councils for the Office of the Director at the National Institute of Health from 2007 through 2010.
He participates on a variety of academic, industry, and venture capital Scientific Advisory Boards and holds an adjunct Professorship at the University of Wisconsin, Department of Bacteriology, Madison, WI.
Dr. Rosenberg is a Senior Editor of the Journal of Bacteriology and the Journal of Microbial Biotechnology and is a member of several other journal Editorial Boards.
Before joining SmithKline Pharmaceutical R&D he spent 10 years at the National Institutes of Health and was a Section Chief in the National Cancer Institute.
He has served as a member of the Science Advisory Board of the FDA, and on the National Medal of Technology Evaluation Committee. He has been awarded the Arthur S. Fleming Award, the Panlabs Award in Microbiology, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Purdue University.
Dr. Rosenberg received his Ph.D. from Purdue and his postdoctoral training at Yale Medical School.
He has published more than 210 papers and is the named inventor on more than 55 issued patents.
