A success-driven entrepreneur and major sneakerhead in his own right, Marlon Avery turned his passion for sneaker culture into a successful business. He is the brains and hard work behind Rekure, a mobile platform that allows sneaker enthusiast to easily identify, organize, and ultimately purchase their next pair. Rekure gives its members the
power to search the globe for their favorite up-to-minute styles in their exact sizes, using complex and accurate algorithms to gather information.
Starting Rekure didn’t happen without some serious hustle. A natural-born closer, Avery used his sales experience to scrape together $5000 of start-up capital while working three jobs, playing two collegiate sports, and being a full time student. As a team leader for Sprint, he took an underperforming store and transformed it into one of the top locations on the East Coast. And he was named among the top 50 salespeople in this region. He continued his pursuit of a four-year degree, played SPORT and SPORT—all while fine-tuning the brainchild that would eventually become Rekure. Today, Marlon Avery’s goal is to completely revolutionize the way people shop, organize and buy sneakers.
