Markus Krause is Co-founder and VP of Engineering at Brainworks.ai. He is a former Principal Investigator and Senior Research Scientist at Telefonica Alpha and is Co-founder of the nonprofit Mooqita. He is a postdoctoral alumnus of UC Berkeley and the doctoral school Advances in Digital Media as well as a former fellowship holder of the Klaus
Tschira Foundation. He received his PhD. in computer science from the University of Bremen, Germany and Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh.
His research and professional experience is combining human and machine intelligence. He applies his AI systems to areas such as health, hiring, digital games, and education. His natural language models power systems for matching teams based on their personality, employers and job candidates based on open ended resumes, and patients to possible treatment plans. His work is also used as key component in automated essay grading, tools to improve peer review quality, and to predict email response rates.
