Markus Haas is Member of the Board of Directors of Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG as Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel. He is leading the company together with Rachel Empey. Since becoming member of the board of Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co OHG in 2009, he is responsible for the company strategy, innovation, legal affairs and
internal audit. In this position he was also responsible for the successful IPO of Telefónica Deutschland at Frankfurt Stock Exchange in October 2012.
Markus Haas started his career at Telefónica in Germany in 1998 – at that time Viag Interkom – where he worked as Head of the Division Legal Affairs and Regulation and subsequently assistant of the management board. Afterwards, he worked as Division Manager Regulatory Affairs, Division Manager Legal & Regulatory, General Counsel, Vice President Corporate & Legal Affairs and Managing Director Corporate & Legal Affairs. He received his admission as attorney in 1998. Markus Haas was born in Munich in 1972, is married and has two children.
