Mark Wnek is currently acting as the Creative Director of WNEK, an advertising agency based in New York. He is a high-ranking senior creative and strategic management executive and a dedicated soccer fan based in New York City. Wnek brings over 30 years of industry experience to the table, helping to turnaround faltering companies as well as
leading branding and social media movements for numerous companies.
Mark completed his education at University of Cambridge in the UK, where he studied Modern Languages and Sociology. This educational foundation provided Mark with a unique understanding, one that translated well with with the media industry. From his years at Cambridge, Mark launched into his professional career by working at various news outlets. Lured by the advertising world, Mark transferred his passion--and his burgeoning skills--to Ogilvy & Mather, an organization where he would remain for the next eight years.
Following his formative and successful years at Ogilvy & Mather, Wnek went on to work for Lowe Howard-Spink. There, he created ad campaigns for global companies such as Heineken and General Motors. In 1991, Wnek won a Cannes Grand Prix for his work on the Heineken ‘Blues Singer’ TV spot advertisement.
Over the next decade, Mark pursued a different endeavor: reviving dying advertisement companies. His tenure at Euro RSCG, London, followed by his work at Lowe North America, proved to be a successful move. In both cases, Mark was able to lift the company out of the ashes into a spotlight of success.
In 2012, Mark accepted the position as Director of Content for the Global Education Program. In this role, Mark was responsible for the content creation of the UN Global Education Program. This work included radio, tv, and internet ads, speeches, websites, articles, among others.
Mark's naturally competitive nature, which allowed him to succeed in business, has also awakened this enthusiasm for sports of all kinds. He believes that sports appeal to human beings’ most primal instincts: they are fighting without violence, and present the ultimate opportunity for people to test themselves.
