Mark Shapiro was elected to our board of directors in 2008. Since September 2014, he has served as Chief Content Officer of IMG, a global leader in sports, fashion and media. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Dick Clark Productions, managing its day-to-day operations while developing and producing high-quality entertainment
programming for traditional and digital media. From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Shapiro served as President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, where he energized and reinvented the Six Flags brand as the world's largest regional theme park company. Before joining Six Flags, Mr. Shapiro spent twelve years at ESPN, where he oversaw both production and programming, created sports and entertainment properties that helped build ESPN into one of the world's strongest multimedia brands, and garnered 16 Emmy Awards and two prestigious Peabody's.
Mr. Shapiro serves on the board of directors of Frontier Communications, Papa John's International and Equity Residential. Additionally, he is an investor and serves as Chairman of the Board for Captivate Network, a privately-held digital media company co-owned by Gannett Company, and is a minority owner of both the Los Angeles Dodgers Triple A Baseball franchise in Oklahoma City and LAFC, a Los Angeles Major League Soccer franchise set to debut in 2018. A Chicago native, he graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
