Mark N Tompkins is a film and theater painter and scenic artist, who participated in various theater and on-screen performances. His matte painting career began in the U.S. in 1999, when his name appears in numerous feature films, TV and games cinematics. He is best known for his scenic design sets and scenery in “I, Robot”, “Fantastic Four”,
“Fifty Shades of Grey”, “Godzilla” and much more.
Originally from Vancouver, Canada (later moved to Staten Island), he was born on January 16, 1975, in a big family. His father worked as a driver in a moving company, while his mother was a social worker and was taking care of him and his brothers.
His passion for acting has always been there, but it wasn’t until high school when he got his first chance to appear on stage and feel the adrenaline. After that, he knew that acting is what he was born to do. Still concerned not to disappoint his family, Mark N Tompkins initially went on to study chemistry but after some time spent in college, he only convinced himself that acting is what he is supposed to be doing.
After a few months spent on campus, Mark N Tompkins took that bold decision to pursue his dreams and ambitions and put everything on pause in an attempt to make it as an actor. Living alone as a struggling actor in New York City wasn’t too easy for him, but his dedication and passion were so strong that not once did he considered giving up. And because luck follows only the brave, just when he thought that he could never make it, a talent scout saw him perform a theater play and was instantly blown by his brilliant performance. Soon after that he signed a contract and was cast in his first big role, after which came much more.
