An avid mountain bike rider since his early teens, Mark McClure has followed and participated in the sport since its humble beginnings. Mark is a fully qualified mountain bike coach, which he uses to take community groups and school pupils out on mountain bike rides. In 2007 Mark founded Try-Cycles, a not-for-profit social enterprise that focuses
on getting more kids on bikes. The ‘Rock and Road’ and ‘Mountain Bike Fundamentals’ courses won consecutive government grants through the Sportivate program allowing over 400 Oldham school pupils to experience a series of mountain bike sessions. Between 2010- 2013 Mark held the position of chairman with IMBA-UK (International Mountain Bicycling Association – United Kingdom) before changing his job role. Mark now works as a major subcontractor for IMBA Trail Solutions. Since 2012 Mark has traveled the globe with IMBA designing and building trails and bike parks with projects in the UK, Europe, China and North America, working in over 15 countries.
