Previous to becoming a software engineer, I worked for 10 years as an IT consultant specialising in VMWare, Citrix and Microsoft enterprise messaging and collaboration technologies including Exchange Server, LYNC, Sharepoint and Active Directory design and implementation across various multi-nationals such as Virgin, QBE and Ace Group.
My
commercial experience, entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to make technology do amazing things drove me to pursue my long term passion and career as a software engineer (you could call it a mid-life crisis!) and since then I’ve led development teams, developed iOS applications for clients such as GSK, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer and have worked throughout the development lifecycle, using software engineering principles and agile methodology to deliver enterprise solutions using Microsoft Windows Azure, ASP.net C#, WCF and SQL server.
Working for a forward thinking start-up such as Mailcloud (https://www.mailcloud.com) has been the pinnacle goal in my career and I’m extremely excited to be a part of changing the way the world communicates.
I’m married to the lovely Heather, we have 3 wonderful children and when i’m not spending time with my family I spend most of my free time pursuing my other passion of road cycling as many miles as I can.
