Mark H. Jackson is the Director of the First Amendment Clinic and Adjunct Professor of Law at Cornell Law School and was the chief legal officer of Dow Jones & Co.
Before his appointment as executive vice president and general counsel in December 2007, Jackson was associate general counsel of HarperCollins Publishers.
Prior to joining
HarperCollins, he was a partner in the litigation department of the Manhattan law firm of Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent & Sheinfeld, where he worked from 1985 through 1997. In private practice, Jackson represented a broad array of media interests in the newspaper, magazine, book publishing, motion picture and television industries.
Jackson is chairman of the board of directors of Literacy Partners Inc., an organization that provides free literacy classes to illiterate adults living in New York City.
Mark is a graduate of Cornell University and Cornell Law School (both cum laude).
Mark lives with his wife and two daughters in New York City.
