Dr. Mark Harfouche is co-founder and CTO of Ramona Optics. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering at Caltech and has extensive experience with semiconductor design, computer vision, and writing production software. As Co-founder and CTO of Ramona Optics, his primary role will be to oversee both the hardware and software development of
Ramona’s 3D, 96-camera microscope including developing the optics and device electronics to simultaneously capture 3D image data from a full 96 well plate at high resolution. In addition, he is the lead experimentalist for device testing to ensure the final parallelized microscope prototype meets the proposal’s stated specifications and goals. He has already overseen the development and testing of the first and second generation designs of Ramona Optics’ existing Micro-Camera Array Microscope (MCAM), and is currently leading the development of new technology that aims to perform rapid scanning of organoid samples, and is thus well prepared for his role in this effort.
