Prior to joining the Technology Strategy Board in 2009, Mark spent 23 years in the semiconductor business where he held senior roles in development, project & programme management, strategic marketing, product marketing and business management.
Between 2001 and 2004 he was Vice President and General Manager of a business unit in Philips
Semiconductors with bottom-line responsibility for a global business with €200M turn-over and an R&D budget of €60M. Moving into a privately held SME in 2004, he held the position of VP of Marketing defining the new organisational strategy and helping to focus a technology lead company onto market driven opportunities. Following the creation of US Head Quarters he became the UK Manager and General Manager for the main business activity, working closely with the Chief Executive and the Board on raising a further financing round and working on exit strategies resulting in the eventual trade sale to an American company.
