Marion Schick, born 1958, took office as Chief Human Resources Officer and Labor Director at Deutsche Telekom AG in May 2012.
Before joining Deutsche Telekom AG, Marion Schick was Minister for Cultural Affairs, Youth and Sports in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Her work focused primarily on strengthening early childhood education and
bolstering vocational training.
Until 2010, Marion Schick was Senior Vice President Personnel and Legal Affairs at the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Society. Her core tasks included the strategic realignment of Personnel and the ongoing development of Legal Affairs.
As President of Munich University of Applied Sciences from 2000 to 2008, Marion Schick was the first woman in Bavaria to hold the position of university president. Her package of reforms won the accolade "best practice university 2002" from the German Center for Higher Education (CHE).
From 2006 to 2008, Marion Schick also chaired the Conference of the Rectors and Presidents of the Bavarian Universities. Marion Schick's academic career began in 1993, when she was appointed Professor of Human Resources Management, Cost Accounting, General Business Administration at Munich University of Applied Sciences, where she was later twice appointed president.
Marion Schick studied business education at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. She was awarded her Dr. phil. in 1987 after working as a research assistant to the professor of business education at the Bundeswehr University Munich.
