Marcus Hartmann has dedicated his scientific career to the applied research of ciliates. He gained industrial experience in his research work in the central research of the former Hoechst AG in Frankfurt a. M., holds a doctoral degree (summa cum laude) from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität (Münster, Germany) and received several awards for
founding and market research activities during his post-doctoral period. Based on his many years of scientific experience in the field of ciliate biotechnology, Dr. Ing. Hartmann 2001 Cilian AG and accompanied successfully as a manager, the first round of financing.
Dr. Hartmann is the author of a series of scientific publications, specialist lectures, patents and patent applications in the field of applied ciliate biotechnology. He has been directing the company's R & D team since inception. An important breakthrough for his R & D team was the world's first heterologous expression of a therapeutically useful protein in ciliates, the human DNAse I.
